The Classic German Style Hatchet measures in at 14.25 inches overall with a 6-inch classic finish carbon steel axe head with a 4-inch cutting edge. American Hickory handle. Lanyard hole. 1.35lb head. Among the tools are axes, hatchets, wedges, and woodcutting tools with high carbon steel inspired by traditional cutting and splitting tools from Scandinavia. The blades are accurately tempered with oil and later placed under further tempering treatment, hardening at a density between 47 and 55 HRC. The taping of the blade, made by hand with grained flap wheels, favors the movement of the blade through wood, reducing the amount of surface friction and increasing the efficiency of the cut. The sharpening, also completed by hand, guarantees a better performance of cutting of any type of wood, even more, knotty woods.
